I know bottomless brunches are all the rage. It seems like the entire world loves a good bottomless brunch. I'm blaming it on Carrie Bradshaw for creating that lust for lazy brunch with free flowing bubbly. Im a fan of brunch, but not so much a boozy one. I prefer my eggs with coffee and not proscecco. Given the option I'd prefer an early lunch followed by a boozy lunch. Kudos for the Kings of the Kebab Le Bab for getting into the boozy lunch game.

Since I was a kid I always romanced the idyllic French dream. I chose to study French in school, I obsessed about French cooking and longed for a baguette and brie life one day.
Makes me sad to say that every time I’ve visited France it’s never lived up to the dream the dream. Nowhere near the levels of the Paris syndrome that people suffer. Despite 10 or so visits I never really ache to go back. When I do get the hankering for escargot and steak tartare, as you do, it never results in a Eurostar booking.
I was born in Southern America, Georgia to be precise. Though we moved from the south to the midwest when I was only three, I still claim my birthright as a southerner. I mean would be crazy not to. No disrespect to the cuisine of Colorado, the food of the south speaks to me more. Peach pie, Sweet tea, Biscuits and gravy, crawfish boil, gumbo, etouffee and of course Jambalaya.
Oh Gawd, I love a good poke.. Nope, not talking about that thing you used to do to strangers on Facebook to get their attention.
I’m talking about Poke bowl. Those pretty little-layered bowls of sushi grade fish, rice and toppings. Next to burgers and ramen, I never tire of getting face to face with a bowl of poke. Not only are they visually stunning to look at they are so darn delicious!
What I love most about it is being able to feel like I’m eating a tray of sushi without all the fiddly work of eating every single piece. I love how fresh it tastes and how you can customise it to your exact specifications. For the record, I cannot have poke without avocado!

Someone once said that the only thing that never changes is that things will change. (Or something like that). London is always changing and that one thing that I really love. Love how the changes subtly happen in areas that you don’t visit that often. One of the quickest changing areas for me is Soho, other than the areas that I’ve lived in, it’s the one area of town that I’ve spent in varying levels of drunkenness in.
It’s fun to regale the history of what used to be in each location… Like the Fetish Shop that became a Hotel Chocolate, then The Nata café. How about my favourite late night sandwich shop, Old Compton Café that somehow became another less flamboyant Balan’s.
How about the video game arcade on Old Compton Street where you used to be able to play that dancing game in the window (Such good memories of that place) that became soulless eatery that was Muriel’s to its latest incarnation of the Old Compton Brasserie.
