3 of My Favourite Small Batch Ice Creams in London

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you dont.. why not?) you know that I'm obsessed with ice cream.  I'm somewhat an ice cream snob... I say somewhat and really mean a total Ice Cream snob.  I mean life is too short for the run of the mill ice cream.  As wankery, as it sounds, small batch is the best.  These alchemists of ice cream really know their craft and use the best ingredients.  Most importantly they have a major passion for the creamy stuff and they are all bloody lovely people too!

The Soft Serve Queen - Happy Endings

The Soft Serve Queen - Happy Endings

Happy Endings are really killing on the ice-cream front.  Not only do they make killer ice-cream sandwich’s (Hands Down best in London) They also do incredible soft serve from their stall in Old Spitalfields Market.  Terry is the master of layering flavours and texture in a soft serve sundae.  Always go for the Fancy Pants… there has not been a creation that I’ve not liked.

The Happy Endings is open all week at the Kitchens at Old Spitalfields Market during the summer. You can get her Ice cream sandwiches in great shops around the London

The Scooping Queen - Nonna's Gelato

The Scooping Queen - Nonna's Gelato

I was once in a monogamous relationship with a Gelateria, that was until I had a scoop of Nonna's Fiore Di Late (This sounds rather rude).  Sophia knows how to seriously spin some incredible gelatos.  I love her simple and clean gelatos that really let the ingredients shine. She uses beautiful ingredients like Amalfi lemons, Blood oranges, Climpson's coffee and Baileys.  She happens to be a member of the incredibly talented Baileys Treat Collective.

I know I bang on about is Nonna's Gelato, but it's seriously divine. Grab a scoop or three at Broadway Market or Church Street Market.  She can be found at most Kerb Events too.

The Plant Based Queen - Black Mylk

The Plant Based Queen - Black Mylk

Being an omnivore, I sometimes think that I judge vegan food to hard...expecting a like for like replacement. Which will always be impossible. But then comes along Black MylkMylk ice-cream with her plant-based ice-creams that stand shoulder to shoulder with my favourite ice creams. They are creamy and had an incredible mouthfeel (unlike any non-dairy ice-cream I’ve had).

Black Mylk is only a year old and Natalie is doing some incredible things for the plant-based revolution, I really don’t know I don’t know what she does to make it so incredible... Black magic, sorcery, pixie dust... who knows? Who cares?  It’s just amazing.
