Where I’ve been eating

As my blog is titled….. I, in fact, can eat.  My day to day eats is captured on my Instagram account. Here you will find reviews of places that deserve a few more pics and words (both of praise and critique) than an Instagram post will allow. I

YoSushi Afternoon Tea

I’ve recently become obsessed with afternoon tea.  To commemorate the royal wedding Yo Sushi created a special Afternoon tea available only in Windsor, I did not want to suffer FOMO so I hopped on a train and checked Windsor and the Afternoon Tea out.

Le Bab Weekender Lunch

I know bottomless brunches are all the rage. It seems like the entire world loves a good bottomless brunch.  I’m blaming it on Carrie Bradshaw for creating that lust for lazy brunch with free flowing bubbly.  Im a fan of brunch, but not so much a boozy one. Tasty Reads:

If reading recipe books are not your thing but food is, this is my curated list of tasty reads.  Written by some of my favourite food critics, chefs and general know it alls about food.

My Life in France

Julia Child
Julia Child is probably one of the people that got me interested in food.  I remember watching her on PBS when I was a child and was obsessed.  This book is Julia’s memoir about her love of french cuisine, love for her husband and her love of France.  Its also the basis for the blog and movie Julie & Julia.

Garlic and Sapphires

Ruth Reichel
This is a cleverly writting autobiograpy of one of the New York Times most celebrated restaurant critic.  In a time where restaurant PR was falling over backwards to impress critics, Ruth devises a plot to thwart restaurant staff and provide “real” reviews for her readers.
It was such a joy to read about cast of characters Reichl creates to complete an honest review. Its filled with wit, honesty and glorious food prose.

Breakfast at the Wolseley

AA Gill
Still one of London’s grandest location for breakfast, Breakfast at The Wolseley tells the rich history behind the service and traditions that make it such a destination. Written by AA Gill and shot by David Loftus, this book is great for any breakfast obsessive including the origins of the English crumpet and how to boil the perfect egg.

Kitchen Confidential

Anthony Bourdaine
This tell all book by Anthony Bourdain cronicals twenty-five years of ‘sex, drugs, bad behaviour and haute cuisine’.   This book is gritty and funny at the same time painting a vibrant picture of both sides of the kitchen industry.  The stories are passionate and raw whilst being totally unpredicitiable.
